facilities at the nursing home
All our clients’ rooms are fully furnished, with remote controlled colour televisions and we encourage residents to bring their own furniture if they wish to make it a real home from home. Most rooms have ensuite facilities. Specialised bathrooms are fitted with hoists and other aids to facilitate ease of bathing for all. A mobile pay phone is available for all clients, as well as the option to have their own phone installed in their room. A modern radio nurse call system is installed in every room.

Access to each floor is at ground level due to the house being built on a gentle slope and an internal lift enables access to all floors. Clients are encouraged and assisted in coming to the lounges and dining room to enjoy their meals in the company of others, or meals may be taken in their own private rooms if preferred. The local village Post Office and shops are close at hand. Newspapers can be ordered and delivered daily, along with magazines or any other requirements. The county mobile library visits fortnightly offering a large selection of both printed and talking books catering for those with poor or failing sight.

We are very close to our doctors’ surgery so that supervision by a
medical practitioner is available as and when needed. We maintain good links with the nearby hospitals as well as the specialist services that they can offer. We will arrange visits from the chiropodist, occupational therapist and physiotherapist, aromatherapist, dentist and optician. A hairdresser regularly attends the Home. Smoking is only allowed in the grounds of the Home.

Personal laundry is taken care of in our own fully equipped laundry facility.

Members of the clergy of differing denominations visit on a regular basis
for those who wish to partake.

Our catering services are based on ‘good home cooking’. Local fresh produce is used whenever possible and our meat supplies are of the highest quality.

Breakfast is served from 8am, lunch from 12 noon and supper from 5.30pm in the dining rooms or in residents’ private rooms if preferred. Morning coffee and afternoon tea is served either in residents private rooms or in the lounge as required. Further beverages and light snacks are available on request.
